RenaCarb is an elegant easy to swallow tablet designed to be well tolerated and improve patient compliance by decreasing GI side effects. Sodium bicarbonate is known to cause GI distress when it reacts in stomach acid. Enteric coated RenaCarb passes through the stomach before it releases in the small intestine.

RenaCarb provides a lower amount of sodium than standard 650 mg sodium bicarbonate tablets. Each enteric coated tablet of RenaCarb provides 10.8 mEq of bicarbonate, this is more bicarbonate than the standard 650 mg of sodium bicarbonate (7.7 mEq).
